The 52nd Essex Summer School in Social Science Data Analysis consists of three two-week sessions. Since 1967 this world renowned summer school has brought global-leading teachers and researchers from over 36 different countries to Essex to teach students cutting-edge tools for social science data analysis and advanced statistical methods to answer key social, political and economic questions. Relationships with business and other large organisations such as Hospitals and charities are becoming ever more important for Universities. Whether it is the role they play in advising on future curricula; their role in assuring employability for our graduates or in putting to our collaborative research it is clear that Universities need to understand how best to partner with external organizations and how to develop mutually beneficial relationships. The programme is designed for international students starting their studies in the winter semester at one of the IBH universities (a network of universities in the Lake Constance area) as well as students from one of the University of Konstanz’s partner universities (YERUN), a German intensive language course is always offered in August.
The University of Bremen is offering a summer school on German Language, Culture and Science. They offer a four-week language courses of 25 hours per week. Intermediate and advanced level courses consist of 20 hours of general language lessons and 5 hours of technical language. Basic level courses consist of 25 hours of intensive general language lessons. Usually the maximum number of participants for each group is 15.
SDU is happy to welcome you to their exciting new summer school at the University of Southern Denmark with courses from the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Humanities. All courses are open to Danish and international full-time students, exchange students and free movers who will be working together in teams in the intensive 5 ECTS courses. In addition to the courses, the summer school offers a lively programme of social and cultural activities in and around the cities of Odense and Kolding. The YERUN Sport days offer a platform where students and sport offices experience the advantages of the YERUN network and where awareness about the network is created among our students, all within an International Olympic Committee recognized framework of sport, Fair Play and universal friendship. The YERUN Sport Days are organized each year in April from Wednesday to Friday at the University of Antwerp (25 to 28 April in 2018). During these three days, each YERUN member is free to participate in a program including a YERUN Sports Workshop for professionals and students on Wednesday, a Yerun dinner for students and professionals on Thursday evening and the complete sports and event program from Wednesday to Friday of the PCU Games for student teams.

The first of a series of 6 research workshops focused on Big Data, Data Analytics and the Digital Economy. Registration was reserved to researchers from YERUN institutions. YERUN organised its Launch Event on 7 November, in Brussels. The event was hosted by MEP Soledad Cabezon (R&D), rapporteur of the Parliament Report on the mid-term evaluation of Horizon 2020. Mr Keith Sequeira (Commissioner Moedas' cabinet) gave an update on Commission's preparatory work for FP9. There were presentations of 6 key EU collaborative projects, coordinated by members of the network, updates of future activities and the YERUN position on FP9. Final programme is available here.
