YERUN RMA 2019 – Meet Fernanda Barrientos Contreras

Thanks to the YERUN Research Mobility Awards, I spent two and a half weeks as a short-term visiting scholar at the English Language and Linguistics department of the University of Essex. I participated in activities with the Language Development across the Lifespan (LaDeLi) group, discussed with Dr. Yuni Kim the main ideas for a co-authored article, and gave two workshops: one in Praat scripting for speech perception research and a second one in R for linguistic research. I also gave a talk entitled “When good is not enough: interlanguage representations in L2 phonology“, as part of the department cycle of regular seminars.
